Anzar High baseball is still winless in the Mission Trail Athletic League after its 4-0 defeat to King City at home Friday.

The Hawks (1-6, 0-5) had good pitching from Neil Ferreira, who worked seven innings, rendering three unearned runs.

“We were unable to put our hits together,” said head coach Leroy Dozal. “The team is competing. Our pitching and defense is giving us a chance to win. Our offense needs to get going. Striking out 11 times is not going to help our cause. We’re going to stress more swings and better pitch selection at practice.”

The Hawks are at Soledad today. The Aztecs are 4-3 overall and 2-2 in the MTAL.
