Hazel S. Moran

Hazel passed away on December 17 at the age of 93 in her beloved home where she lived for 70 years. She was a long time resident of San Benito County, coming to Hollister from her home in Upland as the bride of her orchardist husband “Doug” following their marriage on New Year’s Eve 1934.

Hazel enjoyed homemaking and assisting in the family apricot and prune orchard operations. She was also employed with Sunsweet Growers, Inc. as office manager and bookkeeper for 25 years until her retirement.

She was a member of the Women’s club of Hollister, Hazel Hawkins Hospital Auxiliary, and the Methodist Church.

She is survived by her son Gary Moran and his wife Elsa; grandchildren Brian and wife Stephanie, and Debbie Moran; great grand children Nicolas and Sophia; and her sister Sylvia McIndoo of Murrieta, CA. and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Moran was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Douglas Moran and her parents Hardy and Floye Snow and brothers Harold and Vance.

No services will be held at the request of Mrs. Moran
