She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, liked to read and do crafts, was a loving mother and her specialty was triple layered chocolate cake. She came to Hollister to live with family due to health and had lived in Gridley prior to coming to Hollister eight years ago.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Monte Gooch who died in 1998, her son, Charles M. Gooch, in 1961 and her brother Fred Hall.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Georgia and Alvin Stewart of Gridley, Alice and Dale Watkins of Morton, Wash., Catherine and Jack Kirk of Hollister and Nancy Tucker of Arroyo Grande; her sister, Irene Kinney of Plattsburg, Mo.; and 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Saturday, Feb. 12 from 9 to 10am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Hollister. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 10am at the church. Interment and grave dedication will be on Monday, Feb. 14 at 10am at Gridley-Biggs Cemetery in Gridley.
Donations are preferred to The American Cancer Society or The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Missionary Fund.
