Hiroshi Nishita

HIROSHI NISHITA. Born on July 15, 1932 in San Juan Bautista, California, passed away on November 15, 2009, at the age of 77. Hiroshi grew up in San Juan Bautista, prior to being interned during WWII at Poston, Arizona. After returning to California, Hiroshi attended and graduated from Hollister High School. He attended Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, and then was drafted into the U.S. Army, where he served in the Korean War. After his service, he attended Oakland Jr. College, and then the College of Arts and Crafts, majoring in advertising. He later became a produce manager for Mayfair Market in Redondo Beach.

Hiroshi enjoyed drawing and painting watercolors.

He is survived by his brother, Satoru Nishita of Richmond, CA, and sisters Sally Suezaki (Albert) of Lafayette, CA, and Cookie Hibino (Henry) of Salinas, CA, and many nieces and nephews. Hiroshi was preceded in death by his parents, Shuichi and Kimiko Nishita, and his sister, Toshie Sakai.

Memorial service will be held at 1:00 P M , Friday, December 4th at Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home, 870 San Benito Street, Hollister, CA.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to donor’s favorite charity.
