A Hollister man has been arrested on suspicion of raping a 13-year-old girl, the Hollister Police Department reported.

Jose Garcia Velazquez, 19, has been charged with four felony counts related to the suspected crime, including rape, child molestation, false imprisonment and sodomy, according to San Benito County Superior Court documents.

Investigators believe the crime occurred on the night of Feb. 17 at a residence in the 2500 block of Valley View Road in Hollister, Capt. Bob Brooks said.

The department reported it conducted the investigation with the help of the county’s child protective services department and the San Benito County District Attorney’s Office. The district attorney’s office filed charges against Velazquez on Wednesday.
