Hollister – A Hollister resident posing as a chiropractor was arrested by Hollister police for sexual battery and sexual penetration with a foreign object Sunday, according to police.
Armando Pulido Medina, 53, was arrested at his home at 621 A Street around 7pm after a 35-year-old woman reported that he allegedly penetrated her with his finger while giving her a massage for back problems, said Capt. Robert Brooks.
Medina was working out of his home as a chiropractor/masseuse and his business was generated by word of mouth, Brooks said.
Police don’t know how long Medina had been posing as a chiropractor and masseuse, but Brooks said he does not have a license to practice in Hollister.
The victim was dropped off at the residence by her husband and was a first-time patient of Medina’s, Brooks said. Members of Medina’s family were inside the residence when it occurred, but were not in the same room, he said.
The woman was fully clothed during the alleged assault, and after it happened she waited outside the residence for her husband to pick her up and shortly after called police, Brooks said.
Police are investigating how many patients Medina had and whether there are any other victims, Brooks said.
Medina was arrested for sexual battery involving a restrained person and sexual penetration with a foreign object, both felonies, and booked into the San Benito County Jail in lieu of $75,000 bail around 10:30pm. He posted bail and was released two hours later, according to jail personnel.
