A Hollister juvenile reported to police around 11:20 p.m. on Monday that he had been stabbed in the mid-section when he was at a party in the 1400 block of Gabilan Drive.

The 17-year-old male was at a party where alcohol was being served and later reported that he was stabbed, according to a police spokesman.

Both the victim and witnesses to the stabbing were uncooperative with police about who was involved, while it remains unclear to investigators why the confrontation occurred.

However, police confirmed it may have been a gang-related incident, Hollister Sgt. David Westrick said.

While on the call for the stabbing, officers also came across a large group, more than 20 people, near the residence of the call. Police attempted to approach the group, and all of them took off running.

Police alleged that one resident, a 20-year-old Hollister man, was arrested on suspicion of obstruction of justice and he was booked into the county jail.

Westrick said that both of these incidents were related, but it remains under investigation.
