A 26-year-old Hollister woman died in a solo-car crash Thursday evening on Highway 101 in Gilroy, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Sarah Coffman of Hollister died in the accident reported shortly after 6:30 p.m. Thursday north of Leavesley Road, according to a CHP statement and the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office.
Coffman was northbound in a 2006 Toyota Scion TC. For an unknown reason, she made an unsafe turning movement and lost control of the vehicle, according to the CHP.
The Toyota left road in a northeasterly direction, hit a guardrail and overturned several times before resting on its roof on Las Animas Avenue. Coffman was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the CHP.
