I feel compelled to comment on something that appeared in your Citizens Voice (really the “I can say something and not have to sign my name to it” column!).
I know Tony Ruiz. To accuse Tony of racism is ludicrous. Mr. Ruiz is a thoughtful citizen who speaks out on issues he believes in. It is quite obvious the writer who can’t sign his (or her) name does not know Tony.
I consider Mr. Ruiz a friend. I look up to him, and his advice is advice I value. To sit down with Mr. Ruiz and discuss politics and the state of the union for even an hour is one of the best hours you can spend. Whether you agree or disagree with Tony Ruiz, one thing he is not is a racist. Tony is thoughtful, intelligent, and very involved. We need more like him.
