Mark Rania scored a team-high 17 points and the Anzar Hawks completed their regular season with a 41-36 victory over York on Tuesday night in Monterey.

Trailing 21-19 at the half, the Hawks outscored the Falcons in the third and fourth quarters by a 22-15 margin to seal the five-point victory.

Andres Gomez had nine points for the Hawks, who finish their regular season at 6-4 in the Coastal Athletic League and 8-16 overall.

“Andres (Gomez) had a nice game inside, even though he only scored in the single digits,” Anzar head coach Ed Cecena said. “He attracted a lot of attention and gave Mark (Rania) some outside looks.”

Rania had three 3-pointers in the game and was 4 of 6 from the free-throw line.

Anzar’s scheduled game against Trinity Christian on Thursday was canceled earlier this season, as Trinity is without a boys basketball team this year.
