The Balers fell to 2-3 Tuesday, losing to Presentation 69-17 in San Jose.
After San Benito took an early 3-2 lead after a Taylor Fabing 3-pointer, the Balers would never hold an advantage over Presentation. It was San Benito’s second consecutive loss.
“When you schedule a game like that you hope you can do a lot better,” SBHS head coach Mitch Burley said. “They are very talented, very organized team. They have a lot of size, speed and strength.”
With Presentation playing press defense throughout, it was good experience for San Benito, Burley said.
“We are going to learn from this game,” he said. “We kept competing. They never gave up ad it was good to see.”
Denise Martinez finished with a team-high five points for the Balers.
San Benito will play in the Alisal Winter Jam Tournament on Thursday. They open against Aptos at 6:30 p.m.
