Long-time Hollister resident
Howard D. Anderson died Monday, Dec. 23, 2002 at Hazel Hawkins Hospital. He was 85.

Mr. Anderson was born in Chicago and had lived in Hollister since 1958, when he came here from Santa Clara. He was a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley and a veteran of World War II. He was an accountant for 50 years and most recently worked for Gavilan College before retiring. He was a member of the Methodist Church.

He is survived by his children and their spouses, Nancy and Allen Contival of Hollister, Philip and Roberta Anderson of Gilroy and Eric and Rhonda Anderson of Boise, Idaho; his brothers, Roger Anderson of Carpentersville, Ill., and Melbert Anderson of Palatine, Ill.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred, earlier this year.

Memorial services wil be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Hollister United Methodist Church, Monterey and Fifth streets. The Rev. Ardyss Golden will officiate. Inurnment will be at Mission City Memorial Park in Santa Clara.

Memorials are preferred to the Hollister United Methodist Church.
