Howard Dean has gone from being an asterisk to a candidate that is capturing the imagination of so many Americans who felt left out or helpless to bring about a government of and by the people.
Howard Dean is now leading in New Hampshire by a substantial margin and is pulling ahead in Iowa. He leads nationwide and is ahead in California where he recently received the endorsement of the California Teachers Association. He now has 480,000 volunteers and has raised more money in a quarter than any Democrat. His donations average $74. He has motivated young voters by giving them a reason to get involved. Recently, 500 young voters, calling themselves the Texas Rangers, flew to Iowa and New Hampshire to walk precincts. This is truly the first grassroots campaign for president in American history.
The Nov. 5 Meetup here in Hollister will feature a speech by Howard Dean via CD and his appearance on the Comedy Hour or the Tonight Show. Those attending will share an hour with San Benito’s most intelligent, most humane and most compassionate citizens.
