IDA ELEANOR PANATTONI-KINCAID

LOVED AND CARED ABOUT PEOPLE

Ida Eleanor Panattoni-Kincaid leaves her family and friends at the age of ninety, but joins her beloved husband George Francis Kincaid who preceded her in death. Ida passed away on July 25th, 2008 succumbing to lung cancer. She is survived by her daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter, Georgia, James, and Gianna Drake of Milpitas, California.

On January 15th, 1918 Ida was born in Sacramento, California, to John and Georgia Panattoni. She was preceded in death by her older sisters Noreen Santucci and Inez LaMonte and her younger brothers Louis and Joseph Panattoni. The family later moved to Santa Cruz, California, where they owned and operated the Roma Hotel & Restaurant business on Main Street in the center of town.

As a beautiful young woman, Ida was selected to run for both the Miss Santa Cruz and Miss California pageants. She later met the love of her life, George. Along with being a homemaker, she was the book keeper for the Pinnacle’s Garage & Jeep Dealership which she co-owned and operated with her late husband George. She was a very loving and unselfish person who always put others ahead of herself. Ida enjoyed making people laugh and her sense of humor and wit endeared her to all. She also enjoyed cooking and baking and she will be remembered fondly as we continue to enjoy her many wonderful recipes.

Ida will be greatly missed by her family, very dear neighbors, and great friends. We thank you Mom and Grandma for being the most wonderful mother and grandmother; we could never ask for anyone better than you! We miss you already and we will never forget you; as you are in our hearts forever…

I would like to include a poem I wrote at the age of twelve in a card to my mother:

God made a wonderful mother,

A mother who never grows old;

He made her smile of the sunshine,

And He molded her heart of pure gold;

In her eyes He placed bright shining stars,

In her cheeks fair roses you see;

God made a wonderful mother,

And He gave that dear mother to me.

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 30th from 1:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Grunnagle Ament Nelson Funeral Home. The family will receive their friends specifically between 1:00 P.M. and 4:00 P.M. The procession will leave the mortuary chapel Thursday morning at 10:30 A.M. for an 11:00 A.M. Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Tres Pinos. Entombment will follow at Calvary Mausoleum. A luncheon reception will follow. Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society; the Visiting Nurses Assn.; or the charity of the donors choice c/o the mortuary chapel.
