The time is fast approaching for San Benito County residents to
make some very important choices on March 2.
Measure G has a prominent place on the ballot and for good
reason since it will help steer the future of our county.
Again, we would like to salute those who took the time from
their busy schedules to plan and attend the past two Measure G
forums.
The time is fast approaching for San Benito County residents to make some very important choices on March 2.

Measure G has a prominent place on the ballot and for good reason since it will help steer the future of our county.

Again, we would like to salute those who took the time from their busy schedules to plan and attend the past two Measure G forums.

Only with true knowledge and understanding of this complex issue should a vote be cast.

Then, regardless of the outcome, county residents can move forward and work together to help determine the future of our county and its generations to come.

Just as important is the race for County Supervisors. Again, we thank the candidates – challengers and incumbents – and their supporters who are taking the time from their families and regular jobs to try to make this a better county to live and work in.

It takes courage as well as time and even financial commitment to throw your hat into the local political ring.

We don’t doubt the sincerity of any candidate and the Free Lance will be providing stories and information on each of the candidates and where they stand on the main issues facing all of us.

We urge the candidates to continue to refrain from mudslinging or providing unfair or misleading information in the races, even as the vote gets closer.

We also hope there will be no more shenanigans such as the move by incumbent Bob Cruz to have a No. 1 put in front of his name in a seemingly silly way to differentiate between himself and opponent Jaime De La Cruz.

Best wishes to the candidates as they focus on the issues, which is already a step toward understanding and solutions.

With Measure G, we again urge readers to check out the entire measure, which is on our Web site at

www.freelancenews.com, along with an impartial comparison Matrix.

And let us know how you feel on all of these issues and candidates as these important decisions draw near with the March 2 vote.

The Free Lance is your daily hometown forum.
