Dear Editor:
It was not easy for four members of the county Board of Supervisors to stand their ground Tuesday in the face of a small army of overwrought farmers, and vote to adopt the historic new growth control initiative that will guide this county into a livable future.
New solutions often evoke initial suspicion and negativism. The initiative will not solve all our problems, such as how to provide more jobs for residents, but intelligent planning is a resounding step in the right direction.
I wish to thank Supervisors Kesler, Loe, Scagliotti and Cruz, as well as their planning staff for their strength and commitment to my favorite county’s wellbeing.
