Pamela Ryalls-Boyd, Owner of Decorating Den Interiors in Morgan Hill, CA was the recipient of a 2nd Place Award in the Decorative Hardware & Trims Category at the prestigious 2015 Envision Design and Ingenuity Workroom Competition, presented by Windows Fashion Vision magazine. The 31st annual “best of the best” awards ceremony was the culmination of the central competition that recognizes excellence in the design and fabrication of custom window treatments. This one-of-a-kind competition is the “Academy Awards™” of the window covering industry.
A panel of distinguished window covering experts reviewed more than 150 entries received from designers and workrooms in Japan, Canada the United Kingdom and throughout the United States. Winners were announced at the International Window Coverings Expo (IWCE) at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, NV, which took place on January 20th, 2015.
“Every year I’m amazed at the creativity demonstrated by window treatment designers and workrooms,” said Windows Fashion Vision publisher Grace McNamara. “It’s exciting to see such a depth of talent in our section of the design industry, a truly specialized area of design that is often overlooked, but it so incredibly important to the atmosphere and comfort of the home.”
Pamela’s winning design complements the beautiful hand-painted mural in a round breakfast nook. A pale green sheer fabric coordinates with the colors of the mural and filters the bright sunlight. Grape clusters, grape leaves and bird medallions in a bronze finish frame the arched window and hold the tie top casually pleated draperies. Fluttering birds perched on branch-like finials enhance the whimsy of the murals and support the pinch pleat draperies on rings and pull the treatment all together.
