For simple clarification I’d like to suggest that headlines
saying

SBC

should say either SBCo. for San Benito County or SBC Pac Bell
(or just SBC) to designate instant recognition. It is annoying to
begin reading an article only to find out it’s talking about

the other SBC!

Dear Editor,

For simple clarification I’d like to suggest that headlines saying “SBC” should say either SBCo. for San Benito County or SBC Pac Bell (or just SBC) to designate instant recognition. It is annoying to begin reading an article only to find out it’s talking about “the other SBC!”

Incidentally, what does the “other SBC” stand for?
