Morrison passed away in Chico, California on Saturday June 19th
at the age of 80 years. Jim lived here from 1984 until January of
this year when he moved to Chico to be with his family. Mr.
Morrison was a native of San Mateo, California and served with the
U.S. Navy Air Corps during WWII.
Former San Juan Bautista resident James A. “Jim” Morrison passed away in Chico, California on Saturday June 19th at the age of 80 years. Jim lived here from 1984 until January of this year when he moved to Chico to be with his family. Mr. Morrison was a native of San Mateo, California and served with the U.S. Navy Air Corps during WWII.

He was a member of the Leslie L. Garrett Post 6359 V.F.W. of San Juan Bautista; the Georgetown Lodge No. 25 F.&A.M.; The York Rite of Auburn where he was past master and past high priest. He attended Texas Lodge No. 46 F&AM while living in San Juan Bautista. Jim served on the San Juan Bautista Planning Commission from 1993 until 1996 as well as the Cultural Resources Board.

Mr. Morrison retired from P. G. & E.  after working 30 years as a lineman.

He is survived by a son and daughter in law Robert and Pauline Morrison of Chico, four grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and close friend Marilyn Stroup of Sacramento. He was preceded in death by a son Dennis Morrison.

As per his wishes, arrangements have been made for cremation through Grunnagle Ament Nelson Funeral Home and Crematory 870 San Benito St., Hollister.

A private graveside ceremony with military honors will be held at San Joaquin National Cemetery.

Donations are preferred to the Computer Department of San Juan School District c/o the mortuary chapel.
