sudden heart attack. He was born on March 6, 1924, in Miles City,
Mont.
James Raymond Appenzeller passed on early Tuesday, Feb. 1 from a sudden heart attack. He was born on March 6, 1924, in Miles City, Mont.

Jim graduated from the University of Washington and served 40 years in the Air Force retiring in 1984 as a Colonel. He was a member of the 433rd Troop Carrier Group in World War II, serving in the South Pacific. Jim was also a parishioner of the Immaculate Conception Church in Tres Pinos, an active member of the San Benito County Grand Jury and a member of the San Benito County Chamber of Commerce.

He is survived by his wife Rita, of Hollister; son Steve and wife Trisha of Livermore; daughter Debbie Cable and husband Greg of Hollister and their son Christopher Cable from Tahoe; daughter Jill Wallner and husband Wally of Danville; daughter Carol Hawkins and husband Rick and their son Ian from Lafayette; daughter Mary Beth Mazzora and her daughter Brittanee from Antioch, and daughter Debbie Brackett and Damon Carlucci from Belmont.

He was preceded in death by his parents James B. and Evalyn Appenzeller.

Visitation will be held from 10 am until 9pm Thursday at Grunnagle Ament Nelson Funeral Home with recitation of the Rosary at 7pm. Family and friends will leave the mortuary on Friday morning at 10:30am for the Immaculate Conception Church in Tres Pinos for an 11am mass. Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery with military honors provided by Hollister Post 9242 VFW.
