James Robert “Bob” Conley died in Oakdale on Tuesday, Dec. 21 at Oak Valley Hospital. He was 74 years old.

A native of San Juan Bautista, he lived in Oakdale for 28 years. He graduated from San Juan Grammar School and San Benito High School Class of 1949. He worked as a self-employed wood worker for more than 40 years and owned Conley Wood Works in Hayward and Oakdale. He served in the Korean War in the Army from 1951 to 1953. He was a member of the Oakdale Christian Church and enjoyed automobile restoration, travel and sports.

He is survived by his wife, Yvonne Conley of Oakdale; children Keith Conley of Modesto, Janise Eoff of Fremont, and Bruce Conley of Oakdale; brother, Murill Conley of Hollister; sisters Millie Hunte of San Leandro, Doris Russell of Wasilla, Alaska and Bonnie Laverone of San Juan Bautista; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 8 at 11am in the Oakdale Christian Center. Memorials may be sent to Oakdale Christian Church, 330 Maxwell Ave., Oakdale, CA 95361.
