Jane Edde Hanna was born in Calexico, CA on May 31, 1955. She passed away peacefully on January 15, 2010, in Santa Cruz near her beloved beach. The Edde’s moved to Gilroy when Jane was two years old. Jane attended Jordan Elementary, Brownell Junior High, and Gilroy Union High School. Throughout her schooling she was active in many clubs and activities. In her Senior year, she was football’s Homecoming Queen. Jane continued her education at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, getting her Bachelor’s Degree in Food and Nutrition. She married and moved to San Rafael. While living there, the family was blessed with a daughter, Natalie. Jane obtained another degree in Accounting and became a CPA. She was employed by Arthur Anderson as an accountant in Auditing and Small Business Departments. She also lectured at Sonoma State University. The Hanna family grew again with the birth of twins, Marie and Nicholas.

Jane always loved the beach. In 1986, the Hanna’s moved to Aptos. Jane worked as a CPA and helped raise her family. She was very active and volunteered for many activities. She was always eager to help anyone in need and often coordinated school events. She was a fabulous cook. We are blessed with many cherished memories of Jane. She was always involved in her children’s lives and was a loving mother.

Jane is survived by her Mother: Edith Edde (Gilroy), her children: Natalie and her husband Francois Soderbom (San Francisco), Marie (San Francisco), and Nick (Aptos), her sisters: Nita Edde-Jensen (Fresno), and Ruth and her husband Gary Zeiders (Menifee Valley). She is preceded in death by her brother, Charles Richard, and her father Herb Edde. She always cherished the time she had with the Hanna family. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graveside services will be private. A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, January 23, 2010, at Habing Family Funeral Home at 10:00 A.M. A reception will follow.

She is loved and will be missed forever. Jane was always environmentally conscious. If making donations in her memory, please think Green.
