Jeanne (Jan) DeRosa, the Community has lost a caring friend to many. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Bertrand and Gabrielle Loustau and her sister, Laurette Loustau Cannon. She is survived by her niece, Patricia (Cannon) Shields, her husband, Michael and her precious grand-niece, Michaela, age 10 and grand-nephew, Cole, age 8, nephew, Michael Cannon, brother-in-law, Philip Cannon, and numerous cousins.

Jan was an amazing Chef and was known for her culinary skills. She spent tireless hours volunteering for Kinship and served on numerous committees. She graduated from San Benito High School, Class of ’54 and then attended San Jose State where she received her teaching credential and at that time formed a life time friendship with Barbara Healey Loveless of San Francisco. Jan taught at the local High School, girls PE and endeared herself to the students. She was a professional chef, and when she came back to Hollister, she had a Real Estate License. She loved children and her family requests all donations in her memory go to “Small Steps” in Care of Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home.

As per Jan’s wishes there will be no funeral services.
