July 17, at Hazel Hawkins Hospital. He was 80.

Lifetime Hollister resident Jefferson J. Dooling died Thursday, July 17, at Hazel Hawkins Hospital. He was 80.

Born and raised in Hollister, Dooling worked as a cattle rancher and for the county. He was a member of Sacred Heart and St. Benedict churches, boosters, Hollister Elks’ Lodge, Knights of Columbus and S.I.R.S. He was also a member of the Ridgemark Tennis Club and a past member of the Cattlemen’s Association and the farm bureau.

Dooling was preceded in death by his parents Daniel and Anna Dooling and his siblings Daniel Dooling and Annabelle Hall. He is survived by his wife Armeda Dooling of Hollister; his children and their spouses Peggy and Eric DuTemple of Sonora, Calif., and Jeff and Nancy Dooling of Soulsbyville; his brother and wife Willis and Lorraine Dooling of Hollister; his grandchildren Nikole Nichols of San Jose and Eric DuTemple Jr. of Lodi, Calif.; and his great-granddaughter Megan DuTemple of Lodi, Calif.

The rosary will be today at 7 p.m. at Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home. The Mass will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church. Interment and graveside services will follow the Mass at Calvary Cemetery.

Donations are preferred to a charity of choice.
