Opponent for fight has yet to be determined
Hollister – Kelsey Jeffries will defend her International Female Boxers Association featherweight title in March, agreeing to a fight in Albuquerque, N.M., that will air on Fox Sports’ Best Damn Sports Show Period.

The bout is scheduled for March 22 at Isleta Casino and will be headlined by two-time world champion Holly Holm (16-1-2, K KOs).

“We’ve been trying for a long time to get TV exposure for her to let everybody see what kind of skill level (she has),” manager Bruce Anderson said. “I don’t care if there’s 20 people in the audience, I want the TV exposure.”

Anderson is hoping to schedule another fight before this one, but said “It would have to be the right fight.”

He gave the promoters a list of six names for the “Ali’i Warrior of the South Bay” to be matched up with and is confident a suitable match will be found.

“This is not the Tank,” said Anderson, referring to the Fight Night at the Tank where promoters have repeatedly struggled to fight appropriate matches. “This is an Indian casino and they’ve got plenty of money.”

This will be Kelsey’s first fight in Albuquerque and creates a new experience for the South Valley-based boxer.

“This is kind of unique because we’re going into someone else’s backyard,” said Anderson of the Albuquerque-based Fresquez Productions, Inc., who will be putting on the fight.

“But they don’t have a Kelsey Jeffries,” Anderson added. “They need her to sell their show to the Fox network.”

Jeffries (36-9-1) last defended her IFBA title on June 15, when she retained the belt with a draw against Melissa Hernandez at Seven Feathers Hotel and Casino in Canyonville, Ore.
