Jerome “Jerry” Kuehling died July 2 at the age of 90.

Kuehling was born and raised in Gilroy. He is a 1932 graduate of Gilroy High School, the same year he joined the California National Guard. After his marriage, he lived in Hollister for over 10 years. He retired in 1987.

Kuehling served as director of the Gilroy Chamber of Commerce for two years; was a member of the Gilroy Elks Lodge and Exulted Ruler; and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Gilroy.

He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Kuehling, and brother Zepherine Kipp. He is survived by his son Paul Kuehling of Gilroy.

Visitation will be Saturday, July 5, at 8:30 a.m. at the Habing Family Funeral Home in Gilroy; then to St. Mary Church for Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park in Gilroy.
