Jerry “Papa” Smith passed away March 4, 2012 after a courageous battle with lung disease. Jerry leaves behind wife Julia of 59 years; daughters Patty Galdos (Butch), Dee-Ann Dike (Matt); grandchildren Tom (Jodi), Nathan (Sasha), Courtney Galdos (Phil); great grandchildren Thomas, Ashley, Markus, Gage, Emily and Kinley Galdos; sister Reba Medeiros, sister-in-laws Helen Smith, Margarita Johnson,; brother-in-laws Ernest Alvarado and Wally Johnson; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Jerry worked for Hollister Furniture Store and Standard Furniture Store in Salinas for many years. He and his brother Wayne owned and operated an upholstery business. Jerry’s passion in life other than his family was fishing.
Jerry was preceded in death by brothers Wayne, Myrl, and Denzel Smith and sister Helen Davis.
Friends and family are invited to attend a Celebration of Life, April 14, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at Immaculate Conception Church Parish Hall, 7290 Airline Highway, Tres Pinos, CA.
