Jesseley M. Hawkins died on Dec. 11 at Hazel Hawkins Hospital. She was born in Hollister and was 79 years old.

She had been a lifetime resident of Hollister and preceded in death by her husband, Ray Hawkins who died in 2001. She was a charter member of Hollister Art League and painted with the late Fay Kennedy. She was an avid horseperson and worked as a volunteer at the old Southside Convalescent Hospital.

She is survived by her son and his wife, Ray and Debra Hawkins of Hollister; her sister in law, Margaret Houghton of Hollister; and her caregiver and friend, Rosie Contreras of Hollister.

Friends can pay their respects on Wednesday, Dec. 15 from 2 – 8pm at the Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home.

The family will be at the funeral home chapel from 6 – 8pm to receive friends.

Private family graveside services will be on Thursday morning with Tom Stirewalt of the Seventh Day Adventist Church officiating.

Mrs. Hawkins will be interred with her husband in the IOOF Cemetery.
