Jessie Vasquez, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, passed away peacefully on Monday afternoon. Born in Victorville, CA. She was a lifetime resident of Hollister, CA.

A devout Catholic, she truly loved and was very devoted to her family. Mom loved to cook and was always trying out the latest trend in cooking. She was a terrific baker and her salsa recipe should be patented! There was always room at her table.

She was quite a pistol and tempered with her sharp and feisty wit, she was a kind, compassionate and generous person with a big heart.

She is survived by her beloved husband Ray Vasquez and their ten children, Mary (Rick) Edge, David (Barbara) Vasquez, Anita (Jerry) Magorian, Tina (Ed) Spilo, Terri (Buzz) Picha, Raul (Marla) Vasquez, Mona Vasquez, Bob Vasquez, Neva Vasquez, Julie (Bret) Borges.

She is also survived by 14 grandchildren: Rick and Adrian Edge, Jessica, Deanna and David Vasquez, Kylon, Jerry, Nathan and Tyson Magorian, Angela and Melanie Spilo, Carly and Nellie Picha, 11 great- grandchildren and a sister, Jovita Molinar in Arizona.

A Rosary will be held on Friday, September 18, 2009, 7:00 P.M. at Grunnagle – Ament – Nelson Mortuary, 870 San Benito Street

Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 680 College Street, Hollister, CA on Saturday, September 19th, 2009, at 11:30 A.M. followed by a graveside service at Calvary Cemetery.

Contributions are preferred to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital in care of the Mortuary.
