Jo Helen Reed passed away December 5, 2008 in San Diego, CA. She was born in 1923 in Roff, Oklahoma but she lived over 50 years in her beloved Gilroy. She was the wife of John Reed, deceased in 1981, also of Gilroy. For the past ten years, Mrs. Reed had been living in Oceanside, CA, north of San Diego.
Mrs. Reed is survived by her son Don Reed and his wife Carrie of Napa, CA, her daughter Charlotte Tomishima and her husband Renny of Oceanside, CA, her grandson James J. Reed of Napa, CA, his wife Gidget, their children (her great-granddaughters) Alyssa and Jamie Lynn also of Napa. Also survived by a granddaughter, Dorothy Jo Whitehead of Chambersburg, PA and her husband Anthony, their children (also great-granddaughters) Tiana and Zion Celeste of Chambersburg, PA, another grandson Mark Tomishima of Clifton, NJ and his wife Karin, their daughter (another great-granddaughter) Sydney Jo, and granddaughter Shelly Tomishima of Honolulu, HI. Mrs. Reed is also survived by her sisters Betty Dover of Gilroy, CA, Shirley Murrow and her husband Cliff of Oceanside, CA, and Carol Zelmer and her husband Ken of Sonora, CA.
Mrs. Reed’s services will be on December 17, 2008 at South Valley Community Church, 8095 Kelton, Gilroy. Viewing will begin at 12:00 P.M. and the services will be at 2:00 P.M. Entombment will follow at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park, Gilroy. Flowers can be sent directly to the church. Arrangements by Habing Family Funeral Home, Gilroy.
