Born June 4th, 1932 to Ann and Gordon Chappell, Joanne was the youngest of three children. She met and married her beloved husband Ray Rossi (deceased) and spent many happy years raising their three children, here in Gilroy. Joanne is survived by her sons Paul, Alan (and wife Kimberlee and their two children David and Sarah), and daughter Elaine Postigo (and husband Richard and their two children, Justin and Tara), her brother Robert Chappell and sister in-law, Rene (and nephew Marty and his family).
Owners and operators of Ray’s Auto Parts on Monterey Road for over 40 years, Joanne and Ray spent many years working together. Even after Ray’s death in 1998 Joanne continued working the business and building relationships. She loved to travel, was a wonderful cook, baker, she loved to quilt, knit, crochet, and was very involved in her church. Her family was a very important part of her life. She will forever be
remembered as being a great friend and bright business woman.
Having recently celebrated her 77th birthday, just months ago, Joanne passed away on September 1st, 2009, at Saint Louise Hospital, here in Gilroy. Our loss is her gain as now she is free of illness and pain.
A memorial service will be held at Habing’s Mortuary on Thursday. September 10th, 2009, at 7:00 P.M.
