John M. Apgar, 75, died on Saturday, March 8, 2008 at The Woodlands Genesis Eldercare Network in Plainfield, New Jersey.

Born in Nutley, New Jersey, John was raised in Union. He lived in Gilroy, CA, Hollister, CA, and Nampa, Idaho before recently moving to South Plainfield.

Mr. Apgar was an electrical engineer for the Federal Government. He retired in 2002 from the NASA AMES Research Center in Sunnyvale, Ca.

A Veteran of the Korean Conflict, John served with the Navy. After his discharge, he re-enlisted in the Army during the Vietnam War beginning his Military Career as an Assault Helicopter Pilot. He retired from the Army at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.

He is pre-deceased by his 1st wife Jackie who died in 2003 and by his sister Nancy.

Surviving are his wife Arline Bechtoldt – Apgar, his daughter and her husband Lorena and Britton Hansen of Saratoga Springs, Utah, his son Bob Apgar of Sacramento, California, and by his 6 grandchildren; Amanda Apgar, Jonathan, Joshua, Josiah, Grace, and John Hansen.

All Funeral Services will be held under the direction of the Cloverdale Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 1200 North Cloverdale Rd., Boise, Idaho.

Interment will take place at Cloverdale Memorial Park, Boise, Idaho.
