John Arballo passed away in Salinas at the age of 78. He was born in Holtville, CA and lived in Hollister all of his life coming here at an early age. He worked in construction, was a member of Sacred Heart Church, a craftsman and artist with his works on display at the San Benito County Library and in San Diego. He was a well respected mechanic, played the guitar and liked to read. He married his wife, Cruz, in 1955 in Tres Pinos.
He is survived by his wife, Cruz Arballo of Hollister, his children and their spouses, Monalisa and Dennis Gorman of Martinez, Genevieve Arballo of San Jose, Jason and Frankie Arballo of Tres Pinos and Mark and Wendy Arballo of Hollister, his brother, Joe Arballo of Hollister, his grandchildren, Phillip Leon, Jasmine Morra, Adrian Leon, Isaac Arballo, Nick Gorman, Jonathan Arballo, Mark A. Arballo and Alyssa Arballo and his great grandchildren, Gabriel Leon, Alexis Leon, Jonathan Velasquez, Moriah Velasquez, Anthony Wolfe, Kianna Robles and Elias Leon.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, February 19, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home. Inurnment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
