John P. Carpio Jr. passed away at 60 yrs. old on Jan. 27th, 2007, in Sacramento, due to a lengthy illness. He grew up in Gilroy and resided in Rocklin, CA for the past 21 years. John attended Saint Mary’s school and was a 1965 graduate of Gilroy High. He proudly served in the U.S.Army between 1967 and 1969 and was deployed in the Mekong Delta in Vietnam. John was an avid sports fan who loved local High School football.

He is survived by his wife Maria V. Carpio and daughters; Leilani Hammock and husband C. J. of Rocklin, Beverly Novoa and husband Raphael of Antelope, and son Roger Carpio of Sacramento, as well as 2 grandsons and 3 granddaughters. He is also survived by his mother Antonia Carpio of Gilroy, sisters; Betty Devitt of Sacramento, Ester Howe, and Mary Ann Hunter, brothers; Carl Carpio and Anthony Carpio, all of Gilroy, as well as many nieces and nephews.

A Rosary will be held Fri., Feb. 9th, at 6:00 P. M. at Mount Vernon Memorial Park in Fair Oaks, CA, followed by burial services on Sat., Feb.10th, at noon, also at Mount Vernon.
