Jonathan Van Maxey, age 50 years, entered into rest suddenly from an apparent heart malfunction. His death occurred at an AA meeting in Morgan Hill, where he had recently received tribute for his successful 20 year anniversary with the organization.

The beloved son of Van Q. and Evelyn E. Maxey, Jon was preceded in death by his father and brother Michael. He is survived by his mother, his children Vinnie Tullo and Annette Partain, grandchildren Danika and Brooklyn-Rose and his siblings Susan, Jean, Marcia, Barbara and Christopher, many nieces and nephews and countless friends and colleagues.

Jon has served the South Bay Area as a general and ceramic tile contractor for nearly 30 years, and is well known for his artistic vision and technical expertise. He thoroughly loved his hometown, where he served on the City of Morgan Hill Architectural Review Board.

He was a joyful man with a strong faith in God and a colossal love for his fellow beings. He had a passion for restoring and driving antique and collector automobiles. He will be missed by all who knew him.

A memorial service will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Friday evening, February 19, 2010, at The Foothills Church in Gilroy. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jon’s memory may be made to the Morgan Hill Community Foundation, 800-517-5476.

Rest in peace, dear son.
