Born in Azusa, CA, on May 19, 1927, the son of the late Jose Maria and Josefina Quintana. He served in the 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment of the 82nd Airborne Division from 1945-1947.

Jose also served in the National Guard and retired from the Army Reserve.

He is survived by his wife Ramona and children Joe, Yvonne, Daniel and Susanna, seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by his brothers Leo (Sharon) Quintana, John (Jeanie) Quintana, David (Pat) Quintana, Henry (Linda) Quintana.

Sisters Stella Alonzo, Hope (Filbert) Munoz, Julia (Ed) Sundwell, Irene (Ruben) Ynzunza, Evelyn (Mike) Murphy, Jose is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Services: Wednesday May 12, 2010, viewing at 6:00P.M.-9:00 P.M. at Oak Hill Cemetery Main Chapel, 300 Curtner Ave., San Jose, CA. Mass will be held on Thursday, May 13, 2010, St. Justin Catholic Church at 2655 Homestead Rd., Santa Clara, CA at 10:00 A.M. Burial will take place immediately following the Mass at Oak Hill Cemetery, 300 Curtner Ave., San Jose, CA. A Reception will follow the burial at the American Legion Post at 958 Homestead Rd., Santa Clara, CA.
