A resident of Morgan Hill, he was the beloved husband of Beverly Banville for 62 years, devoted father to Karen and Jody, and loving grandfather to Jason, Julia, Amelia and great-granddaughter Heather.
He was born and raised in Providence, R.I. During WWII he served with the Army Air Corps. Following the war, he spent 17 years in field service as an aeronautical engineer. In 1971, he moved his family to San Jose. He worked for Orchard Supply Hardware for 13 years and retired in 1989.
Joe will be remembered for his laughter, jokes, love of singing and his bear hugs.
Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home in Morgan Hill, CA on Thur., Oct. 1, 2009, from 4:00-8:00 P.M. with a Vigil Service to commence at 7:00 P.M. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Oct. 2, 2009, at St. Catherine Parish in Morgan Hill, CA at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be private.
