Born in Detroit, Michigan he was a longtime Gilroy resident. Preceded in death by his parents Baldassaie and Caterina, his infant brother Michael, sister Mary Gigante, loving first wife Ella and son Richard.

He is survived by his loving children Edward Lewis (Dolores), Marian Sarver (Jim) and Michael Peralta (Gloria) and his niece Jackie Harman and her children. Also survived by his beloved wife Cuca and her children Arturo (Antonia), Mario (Alice), Olga and Edward (Stella) Talamante, and many grand, great and great-great-grandchildren. He first served in the Army Mounted Calvary Division and was eventually honorably discharged from the regular U.S. Army. He was stationed in Gilroy and loved it so much he returned to make it his home. Mr. Peralta was co-owner of the original Busy Restaurant and in 1960 opened Peralta’s Busy Bee which he owned until 1977. He remained in his catering business until the time of his passing at the age of 90. He was an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, The Lord’s Table, Weave Project, Founding member of the Annual Thanksgiving Lord’s Table as well as Knights of Columbus, Lions’ Club and many other organizations. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all those whose hearts he touched. Memorial Mass will be Saturday, August 30, 2008, 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary’s Church, Gilroy. A potluck reception will follow.
