Josephine Raphaela Felice, a native of Kansas City, Missouri,
and a resident of San Benito County since 1934 passed away June 24,
2004 at Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital at the age of 89 years.
Josephine Raphaela Felice, a native of Kansas City, Missouri, and a resident of San Benito County since 1934 passed away June 24, 2004 at Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital at the age of 89 years. While living in San Benito County, Josephine was a member of and active in Sacred Heart Parish, Sacred Heart Parish’s Altar Society and Mothers Club, the Italian Catholic Federation, the Hollister Womens Club, Hazel Hawkins Hospital Auxiliary, Young Ladies Institute, and a avid supporter of Boys Town Of Italy.

“She was proud to be a homemaker all her adult life” said her children. She and her late husband Joseph F. Felice who passed away in September of 1991 had been married for 57 years.

“A main enjoyment in her life was to be in the kitchen converting and creating new Italian recipes,” said her sons. “Cooking and baking for family gatherings, especially around the holiday time was very important to her. It was not uncommon to have 30 different types of cookies to sample at Christmas time.”

Josephine and her late husband traveled extensively through Europe and were able to visit all the continents of the world.

Besides her late husband Joseph, Josephine is survived by her sons and their spouses Frank and Clarice Felice of Hollister, Salvatore “Sal” and Cookie Felice of Hollister, and Lee and Linda Felice of Bakersfield; grandchildren Joseph Felice, Claire Del Curto, Peter Felice, Leticia and Rico Felice, Salvatore Felice II, Damon Felice, Jenae Felice, Gino Felice, Frank Felice and Josephine Felice; eight Great Grandchildren; Brother Ernest Donnici (spouse Josephine) and sister Rosemarie Donnici of Kansas City, Missouri; sister-in-law Barbara Galli (spouse Jack) of Hollister; and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will meet at Sacred Heart Church 5th & College sts., Hollister on Monday June 28 at 9:45 a.m. to attend a Mass Of Christian Burial beginning at l0 a.m.

Entombment will follow at Calvary Mausoleum.

Donations are preferred to the American Lung Association or St. Benedict’s Building Fund C/O Grunnagle Ament Nelson Funeral Home 870 San Benito St., Hollister.
