Joyce was born to Earl and Velma Rolen in LeMoore. CA. Raised in Gilroy, CA she attended Gilroy schools, graduated from Gilroy High School and attended Hartnell College. She married George McCandless in October of 1947, settled in Gilroy and raised 3 sons. They later moved to Aptos, where she worked as a dental assistant.
She was preceded in death by her husband George, her parents, Earl and Velma, and her sisters Betty and Wanda.
She is survived by her three sons, Kirk and his wife Mary of Turlock, Mark and his wife Loree of Gilroy, and Scott and his wife Liz of Spokane, Washington. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Heather Contreras, Joy Esquibel, Michael McCandless, Marla McCandless, Kevin McCandless, Kyle McCandless, Talt McCandless, Megan Lowder and Mandy Mueller. She also leaves 10 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and longtime friend and companion Bill Blake.
There will be no services.
