Was born into a loving home on Brace Avenue, Perth Amboy, NJ to Anton Glovin and Gladys Mortenson Glovin on July 28, 1933. Having just celebrated Christmas surrounded by her loving family, she passed into eternal life on Wednesday, December 30, 2009.
Most beloved wife and enduring companion to her husband, Charlie, of 53 years who predeceased her on September 8, 2007. Most devoted mother of daughter Charlene Rusciano Raisch and her husband Bryan, and son Charles Peter Rusciano, Jr. and his wife Margaret [Ellie]. Doting “GraGra” of three grandchildren, Nicole, Hunter, and Tristan. Survived by many nieces and nephews and grandnieces and nephews. Her favorite childhood memory is that of a music-filled home; her parents had a 16-piece orchestra and rehearsed in their living room. Judy met her future husband at a dance at the Perth Amboy Ballroom. Two years after having met and one year after their engagement was announced, they were married on May 15, 1954.
Judy and Charlie raised their two children mainly in NJ; moving to California in 1971. Judy and Charlie were founding members of Saint John Vianney Church and School in Colonia, NJ. She enjoyed volunteering at the School where their children were students. She was instrumental in forming the school library and was the first head librarian for many years instilling in all the students a passion for reading. In California, Judy was part of the early tech days in our Valley having worked for Fairchild Semiconductor, and Apple as an administrative assistant.
Throughout their married life, Judy and Charlie traveled throughout the United States, to Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, and Mexico. They especially enjoyed traveling by cruise ship and RV with their son Charles and Ellie.
In 1988, Judy and Charlie left their Almaden Valley home and re-settled in Copperopolis, CA. They both enjoyed taking each of the grandchildren for “one-on-one” time every summer. They returned to the Bay Area in 2001 to be closer to their children and family, living with their son Charles and Ellie.
Mom was an incredibly talented seamstress, quilter, and needlepointer. Her handiwork was admired and treasured by all who were fortunate to receive them as gifts. She had a great eye for color and pattern and passed those talents onto her granddaughter Nicole.
No services will be held in accordance with her wishes. Memorial gifts may be made to Saint Louise Hospital, Gilroy, CA or to the Gilroy Public Library, Gilroy, CA.
We will cherish you in our hearts forever and smile at the thought of seeing you again someday.
