Katherine D. Anaplotis died on Saturday, July 7, 2007 at her home in Freedom. She was 82 years old and was surrounded by her much loved family at her death;

her daughter, Patricia Russ and husband Ray Russ of Gilroy and her son, Michael Crum and wife Pam Crum of Soquel.

Her grandchildren are; Katherine Russ-Hotfelter and husband Scott Hotfelter of Gilroy, Carolyn Russ Fortino and husband Michael Fortino of Gilroy, Jason Crum and wife Amy Crum of Scotts Valley, Robert Crum and wife Ashlee Crum of Chico, John Crum, Adam Crum, and Domenic Crum of Santa Cruz, Taylor Crum and Colton Crum of Soquel.

Her great-grandchildren are; Hailey Hotfelter, Anthony Fortino and Domenic Fortino of Gilroy.

She was preceded in death by her son Allen Ray Crum of Redding.

Katherine was born in Los Angeles, on October 3, 1924 and had lived in the Bay Area for over 40 years. Her maiden name was Mathenitis, and she was proud to be of Greek heritage.

She was so excited about living life to the fullest. She gave her love with the same gusto as she lived her life. She lived without regrets, and created vivid memories for all those that knew or loved her.

Her family and friends will dearly miss her.

A private family memorial service is being held for her in Lake Tahoe.
