Who is my momma? My momma is a wife, daughter, sister, friend, teacher, leader, servant and Momma. My mom is not only the most inspirational person in my life, but is a true warrior. Now, I know she hates being called a warrior because she feels like she has to be forever strong for everyone in my family, but I’m sorry mom, that is just who you are.
I remember growing up with a dad dying of cancer, and seeing death at our door dozens of times, but strength held our family together, and that was my momma’s strength. I know that God has put my little family through so many trials in my short time of life, but I believe that has all been for a greater purpose, and also that my brothers and I might see how special we really are to have the momma that we do.
My mom has given up her entire life for her family, and I know if she could do it all over, she would do it again. Her prayers have not only been the foundation that our family relies on, but have been the foundation of my life. Momma, people thought you were crazy for homeschooling me and my brothers, and hey, I DID TOO! But now as I’m older and look back on my life, I know that us MacPhail kids were the luckiest to have a mom give up everything for us.
Momma, you have shown me by example how to love and serve Jesus, but also how to be a sister, daughter, friend, athlete, girlfriend and one day, wife and Momma. Momma, I cherish you, and I know for a fact that I do not say that enough. So here is for all the times that you haven’t felt absolutely adored by us kids, and as I speak for everyone and say, you are so appreciated Momma. I love you and most of all thank you for being my Momma. Happy Mother’s Day.
Love your girl,
Lexi MacPhail
