After moving to Hollister about 10 years ago, I heard some
unpleasant things about Hazel Hawkins Hospital. But, until my

it was all unfounded.
After moving to Hollister about 10 years ago, I heard some unpleasant things about Hazel Hawkins Hospital. But, until my 92-year-old mother was admitted there last week, did I realize that it was all unfounded.
From the doctors and staff in the emergency room, the doctors and nurses prior surgery, the nurses in ICU, the cleaning ladies, the cafeteria personnel, to the lady wheel chairing my mother to the car when leaving the hospital are the most professional I have ever experienced and are second to none in the medical field.
The time and devotion by the medical staff to see my mother receive the best care available was never ending. At 92, my mother is pretty much set in her ways, and I am sure there had to be some trying times for the nursing staff.
Dr. Leonard Caputo showed such patience with my mother and our family by taking us step by step on what was wrong with her and what he prescribed to correct her problem. I believe that Dr. Caputo and the medical staff’s personal touch and upbeat professionalism made it possible for my 92-year-young mother to endure surgery and recover in such a short time.
I am aware any surgery always has its risk as doctors are not God, but thanks to the professional medical staff at Hazel Hawkins Hospital, failure is greatly reduced.
Thanks to all at Hazel Hawkins Hospital.
