Kurt Bruckner, age 53, passed away suddenly from a heart attack on January 26, 2007. Born December 26, 1953 in Santa Cruz, Kurt grew up in Gilroy and in recent years operated his construction business out of his home in Campbell.

He is survived by his parents, Rolf and Betty Bruckner, wife Maureen, children Chad, Laisha and Annie Bruckner, Rachel Hereford and Aaron Schreiber. Also survived by his sister Susanna James, brother Eric Bruckner and four grandchildren Shaila, DeAndre, Hannah and Noah.

Kurt’s greatest joy in life was his family and much of his time revolved around his kids’ activities, including cheering at sports events, being the cool dad on class fieldtrips or listening to band concerts. He lived his life to the fullest, whether barbecuing, tending his garden, tinkering in his workshop, or taking long rides on his Harley. Kurt was a rock to many and an avid rock collector. He had a marvelous sense of humor and liked nothing more than telling a good story.

Kurt did beautiful work as a builder, but his true calling was being a friend, confidant and mentor. He has had an impact on many lives and will be loved and missed by all his family and friends.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, February 3, at 1:00 P. M. at Gilroy Presbyterian Church, 6000 Miller Ave., Gilroy, CA. Bandanas, OP shorts and Hawaiian shirts optional. Donations may be made to Habitat for Humanity, 426 N. 7th St., Sacramento, CA 95814-010.
