Former Hollister resident Larry Valencia died suddenly Tuesday,
June 24, in Santa Ana, Calif., at the age of 43.

Former Hollister resident Larry Valencia died suddenly Tuesday, June 24, in Santa Ana, Calif., at the age of 43.
Valencia spent most of his life in San Benito County and graduated from San Benito High School. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church and loved playing handball and listening to oldies from the 1950s and ’60s.
He was a tattoo artist and known for his artistic ability. Valencia’s life’s work had been spent in the home construction industry as a laborer.
Valencia is survived by his brother Alex Valencia and sister-in-law Maria Gutierrez, both of Hollister; and niece and nephews Gloria Marie Valencia, Mario Farias, Alex Larry Valencia and Gilbert Valencia, all of Hollister. He is also survived by various aunts, uncles, cousins and other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother Gloria Dolores Valencia.
Friends are invited to attend the rosary on Monday at 7 p.m. at Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home. Family and friends will leave the funeral home on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. to go to a 10 a.m. Mass at Sacred Heart Church. Private services will follow at Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Crematory.
