Lena J. Pacheco died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2004 at the age of 91 at
the Mabie Skilled Nursing Facility here in Hollister.
Lena J. Pacheco died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2004 at the age of 91 at the Mabie Skilled Nursing Facility here in Hollister.
She was raised in the Southside area and resided there until moving to Hollister in 1968. Lena along with her late husband, Gene, was an orchardist in the Southside area along with being a housewife and homemaker. She attended Southside school and San Benito High school. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Tres Pinos, member of the Tres Pinos Church Alter Society, Member and former Queen of the I.C.F. (Italian Catholic Federation) of Hollister. Lena had been a Pink Lady volunteer for both Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital and Southside Convalescent Hospital.
Her late husband, Eugene “Gene” Pacheco died in 1998. She is the mother of James Pacheco and his wife, Barbara, and Linda Churchill, and husband, Gary, all of Hollister; grandmother of Robert Pacheco and wife, Sally, Stephanie Churchill Gross and husband, Damon, Greg Churchill and wife, Peggy, all of Hollister, Amy Erickson and husband, Nate, of San Luis Obispo; great grandmother of Patrick Fancher, Delani Gross, James, Justin, Joseph and Jonathan Shoemate, Jacob Pacheco, Ashley Redmond and Mason Churchill all of Hollister, and Kailen, Lauren and Tristen Erickson of San Luis Obispo; sister of the late John Lucchetti and sister-in-law of Mary Lucchetti. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday from noon to 7pm at Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home. The funeral services will begin 10am Friday at the funeral home , proceeding to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Tres Pinos for a funeral Mass commencing at 10:30am. Burial and graveside services will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Contributions are preferred to either Visiting Nurses Assn. or Mabie Skilled Nursing Facility.
