Leon passed away peacefully Sunday night with family by his side. Throughout his 84 years he has touched many lives and will be greatly missed. Leon was born in New York, but raised in New Jersey with his brother, Eli (deceased).

He served briefly in the Navy towards the end of WW2 as a medic, then went on to graduate from Rutgers University with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Leon initially worked as a shoe salesman for many years, but later found a career with the Social Security Administration as a Claims Administrator, where he spent the next 25 years until retirement. He has been a proud member of the Order of Eastern Star and the Morgan Hill Masonic Lodge for over 40 years. The one hobby that everyone will remember him for is his fascination with Lotto: every Wednesday, every Saturday, 3 quick picks and a $2 scratch off.

Leon is survived by his wife, Marilyn, his three daughters Sonya Borchers, Wendy Aven (Jason), and Tami Diaz (Eddie), and his numerous grandchildren, Miranda Aven, Emily Borchers, Tiffanie Santibanez, Nathan and Jesavana Diaz. He is also survived by a nephew, Bennett Blaustein and a niece Marci Blaustein, and their mother Annette Blaustein.

Services for Leon have been held.
