San Juan Bautista resident Leona G. Bryant, aged 89 years passed
away on Monday May 2 at Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital. Mrs.
Bryant was a native of Colusa County.
San Juan Bautista resident Leona G. Bryant, aged 89 years passed away on Monday May 2 at Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Bryant was a native of Colusa County. She was a graduate of University Of California San Francisco School Of Nursing, class of 1942, and had spent her nursing career working at UC Hospital, hospitals in Boston, Mass. and finally retired as a Public Health Nurse for Contra Costa County in 1970 where she served for twelve years. Upon retirement she enjoyed becoming a full time homemaker pursuing her interests of cooking and canning, oil painting, making braided rugs, gardening and traveling. She loved to travel, going to Europe, as well as taking trips even at the age of 80 plus years with her husband in their travel trailer to Yellowstone National Park. Prior to moving to San Juan Bautista to be with her daughter, Leona lived in Georgetown from 1972 until 2001.

Leona is survived by her husband Francis Bryant of San Juan Bautista; daughters Susan L.Bryant of San Juan Bautista, and Barbara Blume (Husband Robert) of Arnold.

As per Leona’s wishes arrangements have been made for private cremation and inurnment through Grunnagle Ament Nelson Funeral Home 870 San Benito St., Hollister, CA 95023. No formal memorial is planned.
