Hollister resident Leonard Eugene Arballo died unexpectedly Tuesday, May 20, 2003 at Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains, Mo. He was 44.

Mr. Arballo was born in Hollister and had lived in San Benito County for most of his life. He attended San Benito High School, where he played football for the Haybalers. An avid sportsman, he also played for the Hollister Vikings of Pop Warner Football as well as Little League in his youth, and also loved motorcycling.

He had formerly worked for Almaden Vineyards and San Benito Foods, and was in landscaping at the time of his death.

He is survived by his parents, Eugene and Andrea Arballo of Hollister; his children, Jacob Arballo of Hollister and Jarrod Arballo of West Plains, Mo.; his sisters, Rebecca Arballo of Hollister and Alice Rios of San Jose; his brother, Andrew Arballo of Hollister; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be after 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 27 at Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home. A Christian service will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Funeral services will begin Wednesday, May 28 at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home, proceeding to Sacred Heart Church for a Mass at 10 a.m. Burial and graveside services will follow at Calvary Cemetery.

Memorials are preferred to the family.
